Here is my concept for the Wacom contest, on the theme of Good vs Evil. I got the idea from the story of "Hades and Persephone", from Greek Mythology. I wanted to create a concept which portrayed the idea that Good and Evil cannot be without each other, they need each other to survive, but alas they are always divided or torn apart.
So here are the two lovers; Hades the king of the underworld, and Persephone the daughter of Demeter (mother Earth). As they fall in love and wed, they must be divided as he belongs in the underworld, and she on earth, as the Earthly seasons may not start without Persephone's presence, and Hades may not survive above ground for too long. This is a last passionate kiss before they are separated and return to where they belong.
I'll comment properly later (just got back from steve's and I'm cream crackered) But it makes me really happy to see you entering all these contests
This is a beautiful piece And I know how the story and how you've painted the image means an awful lot to you (and after yet another weekend of going to and fro from london to leamington, I fully understand their emotions ) You've captured this really well Elisa, good luck with the competition, and after browsing some of the other entries, I think you've captured the spirit of the competition more than most
Wow, thanx! there is so much art on there which looks amazing... but hopefully it will be appreciated more for the concept idea than the actual design. I am happy with it doe
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
